April 2004

Meeting Minutes

FALCON FANATICS

Minutes of April 13th 2004 Meeting

At 7:10pm, Joe Cooper called the meeting to order. Gail Clancy read the minutes and Ray Brown gave the treasurer’s report.

Ray noted he would prefer us to pay our dues with a check instead of a credit card. Every time he has to put through a credit card it costs the club money.

Joe announced that the logo for our shirts had been approved and the shirts that members ordered last year were finally here. Chuck passed them out at the meeting to members who had ordered them and the rest will be mailed.

The store for our Falcon Fanatics web site was discussed. We did get the approval to go ahead from the Falcons, but if we do it they will take our link off their web site. We discussed the pros and cons of being linked with the Falcon web site. A motion was made to nix the store. It was seconded and passed.

Chuck Ruffino passed out a sample of a “cut out card” he would like to see in the newsletter. Members would be able to cut it out and give it to people as a way to recruit new members. Joe said he could do it if he had enough material to do more than a four- page newsletter. Joe asked for help again with submitting items for the newsletter.

Karen Beard passed out the reservation form for the Falcon Fanatics Awards Dinner & Silent Auction to be held on June 19th at Emerald Pointe Resort at Lake Lanier Island.

She described the banquet facilities and some of the nice features of the hotel. She also noted that if anyone had any connections, we need items for the auction. The reservation form will be in the newsletter and it also will be posted on our web site.

New Business:

Joe Hinton died in an auto accident last December and his father wrote us a beautiful letter telling us he wanted to keep his son’s memory alive by keeping his Falcon Fanatics membership alive. Joe said he would pay for the membership for Mr. Hinton.

Joe met with Angela on parking. The logistics of the parking is still being worked out. Possibly, we will be getting 15 additional spots.

Joe received some items while at the meeting with Angela and brought them to the meeting: Freddie Falcon stickers, old logo coasters, cozies, and antenna balls.

Joe noted that the Falcons were going to start having the “all fan club members lottery” at all the home games again. This is where two people get field passes to go down on the field in the opposite corner of where the Falcons come out. He also said the Falcons were also going to start picking people from the membership list again to give Falcon items to.

A drawing was held and Rod Beard won a Falcon license plate.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:40pm.
