 Minutes of May 11th 2004 Meeting

At 7:12pm, Joe Cooper called the meeting to order.

Gail Clancy read the minutes and Ray Brown gave the treasurer’s report.

Joe announced that we need one more person for the phone committee. Volunteers should contact Miriam or Chuck.

People should sign up for the June 19th Banquet at Emerald Pointe Resort at Lake Lanier and pay $36.95 per person as soon as possible. We must make a deposit to hold our space. We are giving awards to players, so send in your vote. There will be special rates at the hotel for people who want to stay overnight. Please contact Karen or Rod Beard. Joe will try to get the players who we voted for to attend the banquet.

New Business:

There will be no meeting in June because of the banquet.

Joe gave possible dates for the Braves Tailgate outing. It was discussed and decided that we would do the St. Louis Cardinals Saturday August 14th game. Mike Scares is working on this outing. We can get $1.00 off our ticket and $10.00 pre paid parking.

The club needs Falcon items for raffles, so if anyone has anything to donate, please do. Mel and Juanita will be doing the raffles this year. We also need Falcon items for the silent auction.

Joe is planning the annual Carolina trip and trying to get the same prices as last year, which were $120.00 for one person and $160.00 for two people. Please let him know if you would like to go. Joe is also planning a Tampa Bay trip. There will be no New Orleans trip this year because it is right after Christmas.

Chuck Ruffino announced he had made up four sheets of “contact cards. He asked everyone present to take cards and pass them out to people who may be interested in joining our club, so we may increase our membership.

Ray Brown announced that paying dues with a credit card was not cost effective. Motion was made to pay by check or cash only. It was seconded and passed

Joe thanked all the volunteers who volunteered at the 5K race. Angela saw the picture of our tent and banner in the newsletter and told Joe we could not use our banner anymore because it had, “an official fan club” on the banner. We need a new banner with the new logo. It was voted to put “the original fan club” on the new sign.

Members asked for Arthur Blank’s e-mail address, so we could personally write to Mr. Blank and ask for his support. That e-mail address is, ArthurMBlank@Falcon.NFL.com

Joe said he should know something on parking by the middle of next month.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:55pm.
