October 2004
Meeting Minute |
FALCON FAN-ATICS
Minutes of October 12th
2004 meeting
At 7:15pm Joe Cooper called the meeting
to order. Gail Clancy read the minutes for September and
Ray Brown gave the treasurer’s report.
Joe Cooper reminded everyone that he
put the information regarding the Tampa Bay trip in the
October newsletter. If anyone wants to go on this trip
please call the vendor and set it up directly with him. Joe
is going to start early to get trips going for next year.
If anyone has the capability to change
a VHS to a CD please give Joe Cooper a call. This is the
video the Falcon players that won the vote gave us to show
at our Banquet.
We had a guest speaker from the Force,
Amber Dunlap from the marketing Dept. As everyone knows
Arthur Blank purchased the Force and moved them to the
Philips Arena. Amber gave interesting insights on the rules
of arena football and other happenings with the Force. She
passed out a packet about the field and the rules and also
brought and passed out some cozies and stickers, a couple of
hats to give away. Amber said the Force would be happy to
help us with our charities. Arthur Blank is going to have a
Force/Falcon Charter Membership program. Amber will email
Joe Cooper with more information on it.
We have been celebrating at Logan’s
Roadhouse on Highway 78 at the corner of Killian Hill during
the away games to cheer for the Falcons and enjoy the
camaraderie of other Fan-atics. Please remember to wear
your Falcon Fan-atics gear so people will know who we are.
We discussed moving our monthly Tuesday
meeting to Logan’s Roadhouse. We feel the service is better
and the food is good. We decided to have one meeting
there. We will meet at Corky’s in November as usual and try
Logan’s Roadhouse in December. Amber Dunlap suggested we
might want to try the Roadhouse in Duluth right off highway
85 and Exit 120. Joe Cooper is going to check it out.
Joe Cooper reminded us to bring food
and toys for the “Toys for Tots” and the “Food Bank” we can
bring it to the meeting or to the tailgate parties. Joe
will be putting a reminder in next month’s newsletter.
The Vick jersey that Ray Brown had
framed turned out great, so sell those raffle tickets. The
drawing will be December 18th at the
Falcon/Panther game. No need to be present to win.
Joe Cooper will have more tickets to
sell at the tailgate.
We made $583.00 at the last tailgate on
October 10th from food, raffle and the Vick shirt
raffle. We only made $200.00 last year at this same time so
we are doing better and we are getting into the black in our
treasury. The bulk of our money is made from our raffles.
We need Falcon item for the tailgate
raffles. Joe Cooper urged us all to buy these items for our
raffles. Donate them if you can. If you can’t, email Joe
at falcon_fanatics@yahoo.com
or at
wareagle39@yahoo.com to get an approval to purchase, so
you can be reimbursed.
We discussed the t-shirt situation. It
seems that the person who used to print our t-shirts at
$5.00 each has gone to prison so we have to find someone
else to do them. So the price of the t-shirt might be going
up. We need to order about 24 t-shirts now. Ms. Dunlap
said she might be able to find a good source and she will
call Chuck with details.
New Business:
Joe said we would leave the dues the
same next year. The only change will be in the t-shirt
price once we find out what that cost will be.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:33pm.
