February 2004
Meeting Minutes |
FALCON FANATICS
Minutes of
February 10th Meeting
At 7:10pm, Joe
Cooper called the meeting to
order. The minutes were read
and Ray Brown gave the
treasurers report.
Joe explained the
proposed membership dues again.
Mel Blackstone made a motion to
take off the wording “families
and singles” and have it read:
$20.00
per person
$5.00
per T-shirt
$28.00
per golf shirt
Motion was made,
seconded, and passed. April 30th
is the deadline for dues to be
paid.
Joe indicated his
number one priority was to send
out the golf shirts with the new
logo for last year’s orders.
Joe announced
that we no longer need a “Club
Coordinator”. A “Tailgate
chairperson” was still needed
and Ted Owens volunteered. A
“Newsletter Editor” is still
needed.
We discussed
sending birthday cards to
players. Motion was made that
we also include former players,
who had been guests at one of
our meetings, Falcon staff, and
cheerleaders. Motion was made,
seconded, and passed. Chuck
Ruffino volunteered to handle
this project.
Various ways to
build our club and attract new
members were discussed. Joe
asked each of us to come up with
one idea and bring it to the
next meeting.
Parking was
discussed. As of the February
meeting there was no contract,
and the number of spaces was not
known. This will be known in a
couple of months and Joe is
trying to get us all back
together in the “gulch.”
Angela Mitchell does news
programs and if we can all get
together she will get us on the
news every week.
New Business:
Cathy Allen said
she would work on getting the
“Big Raffle” that we have every
year together again.
At 7:45pm Joe
introduced our guest speaker,
Gerald Riggs. Gerald Riggs was
a dynamic running back for the
Atlanta Falcons from 1982-1988.
He gave a wonderful speech,
answered questions and signed
autographs. We all wished him
luck in his new sports drink
venture.
Joe made a last
announcement. One of our
members, Joe Hinton, age 19 from
Appleton WI, died in an auto
accident December 20th.
The meeting was
adjourned at 8:40pm.
