February 2005
Meeting Minutes

FALCON FANATICS
Minutes of February 8th 2005 meeting

At 7:00pm Joe Cooper called the meeting to order.  Gail Clancy read the minutes for December and Ray Brown gave the treasurer’s report.

Joe announced the newsletter is late this month, but will be coming out, so we still have time to submit articles.

As a result of our voting to donate proceeds from the tailgate party before the play-off game to the Tsunami Relief, we raised $719.00 in 2 hours.  Joe also collected money from people he works with and put in $21.00 of his own money to make a grand total of $1000.00 that will go to the Tsunami Relief.

New Business:

Joe Cooper reminded us that the Banquet will be in July and it will be at the Emerald Pointe Resort at Lake Lanier Islands again this year.  The date has not been set yet; we will try and coordinate the banquet with when the rookies are staying there.

Chuck Ruffino, the membership chairman, made a recommendation to change the membership application to eliminate the fax and add cell phone numbers and emailing the newsletter versus regular mailing question.  Second, add a charge of $3.00 per shirt if to be mailed.  A motion was made to approve and it was passed.

Joe Cooper announced he would talk to Karen about the Hospital Pizza parties and let us know at the next meeting.

Joe asked if someone would like to do the monthly newsletter.

Joe Cooper ended the business portion of our meeting at 7:14pm as Bobby Hebert arrived to speak to us.  Bobby Hebert played with the Falcons from 1993 to 1996.  Statistically Bobby is always listed with the top quarterbacks who played with the Falcons and was a very informative and entertaining speaker.

Bobby talked about “How to get to the Super bowl”.  He thinks the Falcons will come back strong this year.  He also thinks the Falcons are one of the top six teams.  Bobby stayed afterwards, took questions, signed autographs, and posed with us for pictures.
