November 2004
Meeting Minutes

FALCON FANATICS

Minutes of November 9th 2004 meeting

At 7:19pm Joe Cooper called the meeting to order.  Gail Clancy read the minutes for October and Ray Brown gave the treasurer’s report.

Joe Cooper told us the newsletter for November was not out yet and was going to be a little late this month.  Joe is looking for someone to take over the newsletter.  He will still do the cover story, he just needs someone to put it together and mail it out.  If anyone would like to do this please contact Joe.

We have been making really great money this year on our tailgate parties compared to last year.  This year we have already made $2,305.00 on raffles.

Don’t forget to bring your cans of food and toys to the tailgate parties and Joe Cooper will get them to the Falcons.

Joe Cooper announced that we need volunteers to help at the tailgate parties.  Please volunteer!  We need your help.

Joe Cooper also reminded us that we needed to be selling raffle tickets for the framed and autographed Michael Vick jersey.  It’s worth around $1,200.00 and all the money goes to charity.  The drawing will be held on the last home game of the year that will be the Carolina Panthers on December 18th.  The winner does not have to be present.

We are not going to change meeting locations at this time.  We are already having difficulty getting players to speak at our meetings and the more remote location would make it even more difficult.

 New business:

Joe Cooper will be going to a VIP party where there will be a lot of players attending.  He is going to talk to them and see if he can get someone to come to our meetings.  Bobby Hebert already said he would come and speak.  Joe is also taking some jerseys to have autographed to donate to charities.

We had a guest speaker join us in November.  Larry Winter, President of the Atlanta Hall of Fame.  Larry is trying to get the fan clubs involved in nominating players.  He gave us some criteria to keep in mind when selecting a nominee.  Also, Larry explained that they were not competing with the Georgia Hall of Fame and they don’t have a building.  They are going to have displays at the Atlanta airport, the Georgia Dome, the World Congress Center, and other public places.  Look at the web site at www.atlantahalloffame.com and email Joe Cooper with your nomination and Joe will forward it on.

Joe Cooper reminded us we will meet at Corky’s in December and he will try to have Bobby Hebert here as guest speaker.

 Meeting was adjourned at 8:11pm.
